About Us

Our Mission.

Orange Note is a 501(c)(3)nonprofit organization and based in the beautiful Bay Area, CA. It is no secret we try to follow Jesus in whatever we do. We strive to empower students to become great not by achieving more but by serving their generation. With this, we took our journey.

Origin of Name.

Living in California, we see orange trees everywhere and they are sweet and known to be healthy for the immune system. As for us, oranges are inspirational - reminding us that helpful resources don’t necessarily have to be costly or hard to access. When inspiration comes, we love to take a note so we don’t forget.

How It started.

Hi, I am Maddie, co-founder of Orange Note, Inc. I am the first generation to America from S. Korea. I started my full-time job as a project manager back in late 2000, handling multiple projects with stakeholders from the globe. This is how I got into the world of project management.

After marriage, we settled down to Bay Area in Golden State, where I was lucky to work in global companies including Netflix. - it was exciting to lead the team of 23 language professionals whose work would impact the shows loved by global viewers. At times, however, I felt stuck in juggling many competing priorities and handling communication with stakeholders from diverse cultural and professional backgrounds.

This frustration led me to desire to study project management. While learning the fundamentals of management and handling various risks, I wished I knew this before and how much I could handle issues better. When getting certified as PMP in 2018, I’ve started applying PM skills to my work and immediately experienced its benefit. I wished if I had learned project management earlier and what difference it would have made.

Then, I started teaching PM knowledge to my son who struggled at school- this helped me greatly in areas of focus control, time management even stress relief. The simple ways that we tried are writing down notes and start the day with the daily scripture reading. These two tips when done continuously helped me and my son enormously to get things faster and better. Now, this is my turn to share PM knowledge with my future colleagues- young students and I cannot wait.
